After months of cold dreary weather on the East Coast the air is finally warming up! People are out and about on their bikes, going on runs and leasurely walking their dogs without having to wear a jacket. The warm weather can be very motivating to be more active but it also brings about invitations to go out. And by going out I mean eating and drinking!
Going out eating and drinking is super fun but can be high in calories. Being social with your friends shouldn’t throw off your good eating habits but how do you stay on track? Here are some tips to help!
- Have a snack/meal before you go out. This can help curb your appetite, help you to avoid unhealthy foods and help you wallet.
- Drink water. You may be surprised to know that sometimes our hunger pangs are just because we’re dehydrated. Drink water before you go out and it’ll fill you up!
- Save your cheat meal for going out. If you stay healthy all week, give yourself a break and enjoy a meal.
If you do fall off the healthy eating wagon, don’t be too hard on yourself. Keep in mind why you are eating healthy and get back to it!
Remember this: One bad meal isn’t going to make you fat and one healthy meal isn’t going to make you skinny.
